Web Design Process
Every website design, big or small, goes through a unique process - Research - Concept - Design - Development - Deployment. Deliverables for different projects may vary but the process is more or less the same.
Step 1 - Introduction
The very first step is to organize a meeting to get to know each other. From the early meeting we establish communications protocol, milestones, timelines, Deliverable/Scope of work, roles and expectations. This first step is most important as it involves information gathering - a solid understanding of your business. What your business goals and dreams are and how the web can be utilized to enhance you business. There are certain things to consider at this point:
Purpose - What is the purpose of the website? Is it to provide information, sell or promote goods and services.
Goals - What do you hope to achieve with the website that is in line with your agenda for example; sharing information or making money online.
Target Audiences - Establish a target market. This is the specified group (demographic) that will help you achieve your goals. Picture the type of users who will visit your website and how you can convert them to valuable customers. All this can help in the design of the website that will be more appealing to that group.
Content - Based on the market intelligence gathered it will be clear to establish what sort of information the targeted audience will be looking for on your website.
Step 2 - Concept and Planning
This is where our creativity comes into play. Using the information gathered from you in understanding your company, we develop a road map, a concept that suits your needs. We will work with you to help determine the requirements of the project, from a technical, creative, and organizational perspective. We’ll analyze content, writing style, visual design, and interface design, and make sure we understand everything there is to know about your industry.
